Details

Use this page to judge what District Zero changes, how to test it first, and whether it belongs in your save or server.

District Zero is a large overhaul modpack for 7 Days to Die. It changes progression, crafting gates, enemy pressure, loot pacing, and long-term character growth.

For a large overhaul, a clean world is usually safer than adding it to a long-running vanilla save.

World systems

District Zero is mainly worth checking through enemy spawns and pressure, class, perk, book, or level progression, crafting gates and workstations, loot and trader value, enemy and blood-moon pressure, and late-game gear and technology. Do that in a copied save or test server before changing a main world.

Use Nexus Mods listing to confirm exact file names, branches, screenshots, and update notes; then judge the MOD by the in-game parts above, not only by whether the game launches.

  • Check normal POIs, night travel, blood moon, loot bags, and server spawn limits before raising difficulty.
  • Compare the first week with vanilla: where recipes unlock, which books matter, and whether early roles change.
  • Check whether core tools, stations, vehicles, food, weapons, or late-game materials move behind new gates.
  • Read early loot, quest rewards, trader stock, and money flow before deciding server progression speed.

Progression and systems

District Zero is a large overhaul modpack for 7 Days to Die. It changes progression, crafting gates, enemy pressure, loot pacing, and long-term character growth.

District Zero should be judged as a new-world package because progression, recipes, loot, enemies, and long-term goals can move together.

  • Start from a clean world or a copied world.
  • Do not stack another overhaul until the combination is tested.

First-world test

The first test should cover the opening days, early crafting, trader flow, enemy pressure, and one restart before the world becomes important.

  • Watch whether progression feels blocked or naturally staged.
  • Use the first blood moon as a server baseline when possible.

Server package

For multiplayer, publish the exact package, V3 Mods, V2 Mods; MOD Version 3.0.1, Server & Client Side, EAC rule, backup point, and rollback rule before players join.

  • Keep client and server files aligned.
  • Update a copied world before touching the live world.
  1. Before launch

Check branch, package route, client files, and backup plan.

  2. First hours

Watch early recipes, enemy pressure, loot pacing, and trader flow.

  3. First blood moon

Use the first horde as a baseline before raising difficulty or opening a public server.

  4. Update day

Patch a copied world first, then move the live world only if progression survives.

Install and first test

Run the check on a copy first, then decide whether it belongs in a real save or server.

  1. Check the branchCompare V3 Mods, V2 Mods; MOD Version 3.0.1 with the source page before installing.
  2. Check the install sideStart from Server & Client Side, then confirm whether clients, server, or both sides need matching files.
  3. Test the changed contentCheck enemy spawns and pressure, class, perk, book, or level progression, crafting gates and workstations, and loot and trader value, then save, restart, and reconnect if the MOD is used on a server.
  4. Test a copyUse a copied world or staging server before regular players join.
  5. Record the resultKeep the source page, file label, game branch, and rollback point together.

Server use

Use this part before bringing the MOD into a regular server.

Save
Use a new world or copied world first.
Players
Publish required package and install side before anyone joins.
Rollback
Keep the old package and a known-good backup.

Notes before use

The page is useful for planning, but it does not replace your own branch and save test.

  • Do not mix with another overhaul unless the exact combination has been tested.
  • Do not update a public server before a copied-world test.
  • Treat source downloads and branch labels as checks to finish, not as automatic compatibility proof.
